Meet Michael

As the CEO and co-founder of PharmD on Demand and Aletheia Health Partners, Michael Azzolin focuses on creating practical, forward-thinking solutions that help rural hospitals not only remain open, but thrive in ways that truly matter to their communities.

Azzolin’s vision and commitment have remained focused on healthcare for nearly 30 years, beginning with his decision to pursue pharmacy studies as an undergraduate. After earning his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from The University of Georgia (UGA) in 2002, he went on to pursue an MBA in Organizational Leadership from Piedmont University, graduating in 2005.

Before co-founding PharmD on Demand and Aletheia Health Partners, Azzolin worked as a pharmacist at WalMart in Monroe, Georgia, and later moved to Athens Regional Medical Center, in Athens, Ga., where he worked the night shift and gained experience in hospital pharmacy while completing his MBA during the day.

His education, combined with this experience, helped him gain unique insights not only into pharmacy operations, but the operational dynamics of hospital systems and the healthcare system as a whole. This laid a foundation that allowed Azzolin to launch PharmD on Demand in 2006 and Aletheia Health Partners in 2022.

Under his leadership, PharmD on Demand has grown and thrived, earning The University of Georgia’s Bulldog 100 Award nine times since 2014, an accolade recognizing the fastest growing businesses owned by UGA alumni. In 2022, Modern Healthcare honored PharmD on Demand as one of America’s Top 150 companies to work for. They earned this honor again in 2023 and 2024. His commitment to excellence and strengthening healthcare extends beyond his company; he has been an active member of the Georgia Pharmacy Association (GPhA) since 2010, serving on the Board of Directors in 2016 and 2017.

In 2020, Azzolin’s outstanding commitment to healthcare and supporting hospitals and communities was further recognized when Georgia Governor Brian Kemp appointed him to the Georgia Board of Pharmacy. He served as President of the Board in 2023 and continues to serve as a Board Member at the pleasure of the Governor.

Beyond his professional achievements, Azzolin is deeply invested in his community. He is a member of Briarwood Baptist Church in his small town of Watkinsville, Georgia where he currently serves as a Deacon, and has served on the board of Chosen for Life, a non-profit organization that supports foster and adoptive families. Azzolin and his wife Stephanie have five children and enjoy spending as much time in the outdoors as possible with them.
